A Call to Fast & Prayer for 21 Days starting Thursday March 19, 2020
Why Fast? Fasting is a biblical way to truly humble yourself in the sight of God. It enables the Holy Spirit to reveal your true spiritual condition, resulting in brokenness, repentance, and a transformed life.
Purpose of fast: To cry out to God for courage to live and walk “from” victory in Christ Jesus.
And Asa cried out to the Lord his God, and said, “Lord, it is nothing for You to help(confidence), whether with many or with those who have no power; help us, O Lord our God, for we rest on You(commitment), and in Your name we go against this multitude(courage). O Lord, You are our God;(concern) do not let man prevail against You!”
– 2 Chronicles 14:11
1- Absolute Confidence in God. One million versus 500,000 is not a very good ratio. But the ratio doesn’t count when God is with you!
2- Absolute Commitment to God. It’s one thing to say we believe in God can accomplish a particular purpose, but it is quite another thing to commit yourself to God so that He may accomplish His purpose IN and through you.
3- Absolute Courage. Asa learned that the name of the LORD has strength and power. And when we go forward in the name of the LORD, we go forward in power and in strength to do the work of God!
4- Absolute Concern for God. If we were in a similar position as Asa, surrounded by the enemy, we might pray Oh God, let no one prevail against us! But Asa had already given the battle to the LORD; now he was concerned about God and God’s Kingdom!
